Gold deals on Moscow Exchange fall 9.1% to 15 tns in Jan–Apr

MOSCOW, May 3 (PRIME) -- The physical amount of deals with gold on the Moscow Exchange decreased 9.09% on the year to 15.4 tonnes in January–April, while deals with silver plunged 59.1% to 302 kilograms, the exchange said on Wednesday.

In monetary terms, gold and silver deals amounted to more than 34.6 billion rubles, down from 43.3 billion rubles in the same period of 2016.

In April, the volume of gold deals on the Moscow Exchange amounted to 4.4 tonnes and silver deals stood at 79 kilograms. In monetary terms, the combined volume of deals with gold and silver reached 10.2 billion rubles, of which silver deals accounted for 2.6 million rubles.

In 2016, 124.8 billion ruble deals were concluded on the Moscow Exchange for 46.579 tonnes of gold and 1.67 tonnes of silver.
